Lizard Island is one of the major research sites on the Great Barrier Reef belonging to the Australian Museum. As part of the Barcode of LIfe Research Project (see link below) I was photographing along with researchers and divers for two weeks. The Barcode of Life project seeks to establish a databank of all marine life to allow species identification from DNA. To date over 50000 specimens and over 7000 species have been barcoded by this international project.
