20 years in Canada, and no opportunity to look for salmon pictures of any quality, this year it was finally possible, the October salmon run in Vancouver Island was not as big as past years, but clear water, ideal light, and cooperative salmon made for some great images.
Photographs on the left, top to bottom:
• Rugged Pacific Coast line of British Columbia
• Exhausted salmon have reached their spawning ground 200 meters above sea level
• Hungry bears wait, ready to pick off the weakest of the salmon
• Sockeye salmon in their native spawning ground
